The annual Juneteenth celebration will be held June 13 & 14 at the Eddie Mae Herron Center. All activities are free to the public! Friday, June 13th starting at 6pm we will have Family Tree by Cindy Robinette, Maurice Blair will be our guest speaker then the Metro Singers from St. Louis Missouri. Mr. and Miss Juneteenth 2014 will be held Saturday, June 14th at 10am at the Eddie Mae Herron Center. Registration fee is $10 with a $5 additional fee for each category of photogenic, prettiest smile, and best dressed. Dress is Red, White, & Blue casual wear. No pageant dresses or make-up. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

The Eddie Mae Herron Center/Museum will be hosting their annual Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday celebration on January 16, 2012. There will be a march across Pocahontas starting at 10am at the Courthouse on Broadway. We will walk down Marr Street to the Community Center on Geneva Street. The public is invited to march with us by just showing up at the Courthouse prior to 10am. Gerald Fears will be the guest speaker at the Eddie Mae Herron Center at 11am following the march.
