The Eddie Mae Herron Center is honored to host a book signing for Mrs. Anna Cook at the Center on January 27, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
Mrs. Cook loves to write and she has recently self published “The Point,” a history of the Fairview and New Friendship communities and their rich history and the families who lived there in the past and their descendants who live there today.
Mrs. Cook states the reason she wrote “The Point” was because she felt the history of those communities were slipping away and it needed to be captured. Mrs. Cook said she is so appreciative of all the help and support she received from the Fairview and New Friendship residents. She stated that her association with these communities goes back to 1957 when she drove down the road to visit her boyfriend, Ralph Cook, Jr.. They married in 1960.
This is the 3rd book on history Mrs. Cook has written. Her first book was published in 1990 and was entitled “Feed Sacks”. Mrs. Cook graduated from the Imboden schools and then went onto graduate from Arkansas State University. She taught 3rd grade for 13 years at Black Rock.
We invite everyone to join us for a memorable afternoon. Refreshments will be served.
